I'm sure you're shocked to hear that Broccoli-owned Boysenberry has churned out another cute BL book. But it's smexy, too!

Mizuki wants nothing more than to be self-sufficient. An adopted kid, he decides not to go to an expensive university on his parents' dime, but instead to get a job and move out right after graduating. But as you'll learn is common with Mizuki, it doesn't go as well as planned-- the company he was working for folds. So, like any cute, uke-tastic boy, he asks his brother if he can move in for a bit.Image

And of course, even that proves tricky: Mizuki's brother lives in the dorm for single, male employees of a large corporation. In a rare stroke of good luck, Nii-san's roomies pounce on Mizuki, their new "secret pet cat." And I'm sure you'll be shocked to learn that Mizuki establishes a special relationship with one roommate, the redicent Kudou. But will their love survive cleaning duty, inferiority complexes, cosplay cafes, and snooping neighbors?

Oh, and sexual frustration. Lots of sexual frustration. For Mizuki, Kudou, and the reader as well, Seriously, there are quite a few scenes where things start to get steamy and then get interrupted. Yarr!

I'm pretty fond of Yamato-sensei's art (I loooove Chinko no Tsubuyaki! Though this is much less cracked out, so be warned, fellow ChinTsubus fans). Her characters aren't too sharp and angular like alot of BL art, but they're not too round and cutesy either. And of course, I like the pet theme. (A fave non-BL of mine is Tramps Like Us, a.k.a. "Kima Wa Petto.")

As an added bonus that a fair few of you will enjoy: a 100% consenting uke. No, for real! There's even a scene where he thinks about how most people would say no in his situation, but he just doesn't want to say no. Now that's an uke after my own heart, eh?

I do have one complaint: in addition to being frustrated with interrupted smex scenes, readers may get frustrated with Mizuki's constant over-analysis, misunderstandings, etc. Yeah, he's a bumbling uke. But he's adorable, especially when he's cleaning, so I'm inclined forgive him.

So! Overall: good book, I think. Nice art, fun story (and lots of fun characters, especially Mizuki's other "owners"), and a satisfying conclusion (along with some cute omake).
