So, henceforth: our 2007 Yaoi-Con coverage! Yesterday we had a blast at the Swap Meet, and then we went to the first of Yaoi-Con's two cafes: the Bishounen Cafe, running Friday-only and featuring actual men, most of whom will be auctioned off this evening.
Just to get bingo started: Jordan and I spotted the hotel staff looking politely horrified at the swap meet.
Since we had some time before the 801 Media party, we also popped by cafe #2-- Cafe Verfuhren, which we thought was really more fun in the long run. It's very tucked away though, but I promise, it's worth it-- and the food is actually good, too! ;) We may have a longer, more in-depth review of the two if time permits.
We had a lot of fun at the 801 Media, where we kind of ignored the laws of hospitality that say that you actually have to LEAVE at some point. There was much penis-shaped food to be had, including (but not limited to) donuts arranged to look like a penis (which we brought) and penis cakes (which we didn't)-- hit the jump for a couple of photos.
Today's panels incluuuude: 801 Media, the Mamiya Oki-sensei/Tsubasa Kawahara-sensei guest focus panel, the Hinako Takanaga-sensei panel, and our own interview with Takanaga-sensei.
We're probably going to be able to check in on the forums prior to the interview, so if you have last-minute additions to our questions, by all means-- post 'em!
That's it for now. Keep tabs on us for the rest of the day for all the coverage-- our RSS feed is here, or you can hit up the ol' LiveJournal. :D
