To get the less interesting stuff out of the way: the art's decent (albeit that really tall, broad-shouldered, pointy-chin style I'm not fond of), the voice acting is so-so, and there's virtually no action. The reason why Seikimatsu Darling (translation: Dear Darling, "dear" as in how you open a letter) gets my recommendation is because it's funny. And not in the Papa to Kiss in the Dark way, either.

That said: Ogata has a crushon his co-worker, Takasugi. Takasugi, it turns out, has a crush on Ogata, too. The problem? Both of them want to be on top. Yipe!

To a newbie yaoi fan, this probably wouldn't actually be that funny. But I can only think of a couple of yaoi items (fanmade, as I recall) where there wasn't a really obvious top and bottom-- and where there wasn't, the couple was the switching kind.

Anyway, Ogata and Takasugi decide to go to a hot springs spa-type place (of course) and try to seduce each other. Ogata, after being told by his gay-couple friends that he is in serious danger of losing the who's-on-top battle, brings the friends along too-- Shikibu and Tsutsumi, top and bottom respectively.

Who wins the battle? You really think I'm just going to tell you? Didn't you see the above where it says NO SPOILERS? Geez!

But in case you felt unfulfilled by the end of the OAV, immediately afterward is a crack-filled omake (extra) called: End-of-the-Century Rangers, Darling 5!

The Darling 5 consists of Ogata, Takasugi, their coworker , Tsutsumi, and Shikibu. The bad guy, Kouhei, wants to take over the world and give it to his boy-toy Takeru-- I can only assume these two are characters from another yaoi or something.

Anyway, it's weird and cracktastic, so check it out.
