I knew that this getting licensed was a big deal. I know that many people out there love this mangaka, and now I see why. Our Everlasting was really good, but the writing in this is great. The way the romance unfolds in this shows some of the best writing I've seen in this genre.
Our seme, Matsukawa, is a salaryman who often hires a photographer named Nishioka to do work for his advertising agency. Matsukawa is so adorably in love with Nishioka. Nishioka is denying his long held feelings for his seme. Nishioka secretly keeps a file of candids he has taken of Matsukawa. Nishioka is definitely a feisty uke, temperamental might be a better word for him.
Even though this is not an NC-17 manga, this was hotter than some explicit yaoi I've read. There are some bedroom scenes in this, and some other scenes with licking and groping. No nudity is ever seen. I didn't miss it though. Well done sexual tension can be hotter than a sex scene, I'd almost forgotten that.
The art in this is certainly expressive. Purely in terms of technical skills, she is not one of the strongest manga artists I've seen. Her figures, especially faces, look a bit flat at times. Her art does portrays the story well, and that is what's most important. The emotions of the characters always shine through.
I've fallen in this with this manga enough that I will probably squee with joy when the next volume comes out. |
