So, these three panels didn't have lots of licensing news, but we did attend them and wanted to give a report, especially since YP *did* have a few licensing announcements...
Yaoi Press:
* Licensed Italian yaoi title Caim by Lee Peregrine(sp?). It's 4 volumes in its original form but will be shortened to 3 volumes with dust jackets for US publication.
* The Lily and the Rose by Dany & Dany is being created exclusively for YP-- it's a gothic yaoi set in the 19th century.
* Schedule is full up for 2007, but will be accepting submissions for the 2008 lineup starting in June '07.
* YP is in negotiations for a Japanese title, and they also have plans for a video game, but they can't really talk about either of these things.
Iris Print:
* Is Boy's Love, *not* really yaoi.
* Graphic novels Paintings of You and Only Words will be released in Spring.
* Graphic novel "Home on the Range" by C.B. Potts and Victorian Negreiro (sp?) has been announced and will be out by next Yaoi Con.
* An unnamed short story anthology has been announced, and will be fairy tale/fantasy themed. There WILL be a call for submissions, possibly within the next week. Keep an eye on BoysLoveBooks.com for more info.
* Iris is generally open to new ideas and writers, and is especially interested in full-length graphic novels and graphic novel series. Again, see their website for more details.
Broccoli:
* A Juvenile Orion artbook-- with art by various mangaka, including Koge Donbo and we *think* there was a Yun Kouga one? --with art from the original TCG was announced.
Whew...the con is over! I will try to post a more extensive version of this, as well as the full 801 and Juné summaries, but they will have to wait until tomorrow.
