Now, if you went to the AnimeNFO link I suppplied (ANN doesn't have a listing for it, for the record), you probably read about how this show is about a guy who has the hots for his "father-in-law." I don't know if they were spoiling something that's going to happen in episode 2 or if they were just trying to make this anime not seem like the yaoicest that it is; either way, we're lead to believe that Kyousuke is 100% the main character's (that is, Mira's) dad.

Except for the fact that Mira refers to him as Kyousuke (even to his friends who aren't (supposed to be) aware of their DIRTY SMEXY RELATIONSHIP). But otherwise, he definitely seems to think of Kyousuke as his real dad, because he is SUPER SHOCKED at the end of the episode to find out that Kyousuke is NOT his real dad, according to the family registry.

Okay, now, I can usually set aside the shouta/shota implications of a 29-year-old having sex with a 15-year-old (he's a freshman in what I hope is senior high school, since otherwise he'd be 12) when the 15-year-old in question doesn't particularly look like a 15-year-old.

But you see, they have these flashback photo-shot type things to Kyousuke with little-kid!Mira. Now, technically nothing particularly dirty happens in them. But it kind of raises the question of just how long have Mira and his daddy dearest been doing this, exactly? It doesn't start in the anime, that's clear.

But before you start freaking out, let me just say that this show does NOT take itself seriously. In fact, there is some comedy GOLD in this piece, which I screencapped JUST FOR YOU!

The text reads, "But I guess that means the triple problem of homosexuality, shota, and incest would become only double, right?"

This is a conversation that Mira has with his friend Kazu, in the family registration office. The people you see who look rather upset are overhearing their loud conversation about homosexual shouta incest. GO TEAM!

This show is actually reminiscent of Gravitation (see ANN entry) in its appearance-- Kyousuke in particular is like a super-horny, less-angsty version of Yuki Eiri. Mira doesn't look that much like Shuichi, but he has maybe a fifth of that psycho-hyperness.

Now, if you're looking for super hardcore gay sex, this isn't the show for you. They never show any genitalia, though they do show some mid-coitus interactions, just with none of the good stuff in the shot. So I guess it'd be rated more R than NC-17, but it's still hot-- especially if you mute it during the sex scenes, since Mira's voice is really kind of annoying. Actually, that's disappointing, since he was voiced by the seiyuu who played the imminently less irritating Sora in Sukisho (see ANN entry).

I guess I should provide a summary here, since I'm all out of order above.

Mira wakes up on his first day of high school; he's about 15. He goes to wake up Kyousuke, who is still asleeeeeeep. They have some kind of sexual encounter (this is one of those shows where they never actually show the specifics; in this particular scene they just cut away for now).

Mira goes to school, but oh noes! He's late and has to ask an upperclassman for help. Fortunately the one he bumps into is hot and thinks Mira is cute: class president and senior Utsunomiya Takayuki. He covers for Mira, but they have no sex.

Moving on, Mira pops into the classroom at last, where he meets up with Kazu, a friend from his previous school, and also Shun, a childhood friend. Kazu, at least, is blatantly in lust for Mira; Shun we have yet to really get a sense of. No one has sex at this time, but Mira gives us some nice flashbacks from earlier in the morning.

After school, Mira goes home and has some more sex with Kyousuke, who breaks SEX RULE NUMBER ONE and makes some kind of appointment (or DATE?!) on the phone, literally in the middle of the sex. Yeesh. BAD dad.

The next day, Mira is a combination of woozy from having too much sex and pissed off/jealous from having an idiotic father-lover-person. He doesn't have any sexual encounters at school, but he and Kazu bump into Takayuki and the latter has a glaring match with uber-protective Kazu. Clueless Mira is still thinking about Kyousuke having sex with other people. Grr.

We cut to a scene in which we see a gorgeous actress being interviewed about her upcoming marriage; then we see her bump into Kyousuke. Shun, who is a musician, spies on the pair, but we don't know what they did or what they talked about. I'm pretty sure they didn't have sex, though.

That night, Mira cooks a fancy-shmancy meal for himself and Kyousuke (wearing short-shorts and an apron, woot), but Kyousuke doesn't show up until uber-late. Then they have make-up sex.

Next day at school, Mira realizes that he's torn his family registry copy in half, and needs another copy to join a club. He drags Kazu to the registry office, where they have the aforementioned loud conversation about homosexual shouta incest. Then he finds out: BAM! Kyousuke ISN'T his dad. I can't figure out why he's upset that his lover isn't his real father, unless maybe that was the only reason why he was into Kyousuke in the first place. In any case, there is no sex in this scene either. The end of episode 1!

If you downloaded the aarinfantasy version of Papa to Kiss, after the end credits you get a bonus music video of the end song, but I have no idea what group that is, and it's not really a very good video.

So yeah, overall, I'd actually say go watch this with a friend and mock it mercilessly. It's that kind of show.

Warnings: Incest, underage (15), possible implied shota (?).
