You may have noticed a few changes around here at YaoiSuki. That's because we've moved to a new host, and in the process upgraded and altered a bunch of our features (most notably: embedded wiki and better forums). Unfortunately, we lost our user database in the move, so those of you who were signed up will unfortunately need to sign up again. It's a pretty painless process though!

The Contest:
This contest is to fatten up our "you know you've been reading too much yaoi when..." list! We think you'll find it a bit more accessible than our t-shirt design contest ;) The contest starts Monday, June 19th; the deadline is Monday, July 17th.
To enter, all you have to do is e-mail up to THREE (that's right, THREE is the limit, no more than THREE entries per person! Do NOT try to fake us out on this, guys-- we're watching!) endings to the sentence: "You know you've been reading [or watching] too much yaoi when..."
That's it. To enter, just copy/paste and fill out the following info into an e-mail to

with the subject line: CONTEST ENTRY (or CONTEST ENTRIES).
By the way, do NOT enter the contest without reading the rules below. Seriously. The prize info is below the rules. ;)
Your full real name: (will never appear on the site)
Your site username: (if you have one)
Your age: (under-18s ARE allowed to enter, however, make sure you read the rules below-- there's a specific one that applies to you!)
Entry #1:
Entry #2:
Entry #3:
You can also send us entries in separate e-mails if you come up with them later-- just make sure you include the name and age info in ALL e-mails and give us your entry numbers.
The Rules:
1. By entering, you agree that your entry is your own, unplagiarized work, and that you give YaoiSuki the non-exclusive rights to publish your entry on its website and, if it wins, to be placed on other promotional items and merchandise indefinitely. You also agree that have obeyed / will obey all the rules listed here; if you are found to have broken a rule your entries will all be discounted.
2. Just to drive this one home: NO PLAGIARIZING. We'll be checking on this, I promise.
3. Minors and people under the age of 18 may submit entries to this contest. HOWEVER, if one of our winners is under 18, we will have to send them the rules and get their signature and a parents' and have them mail it back to us. It's a hassle I know, but people under the age of 18 can't sign a legally binding contract, which means they can't give us any rights to their work. This DOES mean that if you are under 18 and want to win a prize, you have to explain this site to your parents. Sorry.
4. IF you wrote an entry on the forum thread, you may submit it to the contest-- but ONLY ones that YOU posted. As a little bonus to people who've been using the forums, you may submit up to ONE entry from the forum that doesn't count to your total 3-- that means you can have FOUR entries! It has to have been posted BEFORE the contest, of course. Don't try posting it now and submitting it.
After the deadline is up, we will select our favorite ten or so entries and put them up for voting (they'll be anonymous-- you won't know who submitted what, unless it was on the forums...but I've unpublished that thread so you can't double-check! if you need to know what your forum entries were,

). We'll hide the results until the end this time, per a couple of requests I got last time. You guys will vote on your favorites, and the top 3 votes will be our prize winners!
Note that if two of the top 3 (or all 3, or whatever) entries are from the same entrant, we'll keep going down the list until we have three individual winners. :)
We plan on eventually using these lists on merchandise (hence the concern on copyright), probably in top-5 and top-10 lists...so non-winners may see their entries on shirts too!
6. Just to remind: you can enter a total of 3 sentence endings (4 if one was posted by you on the forums), and the deadline is July 17th.
THE FABULOUS PRIZES!
The prizes were all purchased at various shops from Japan while we were there! A couple of them had to be double-checked to make sure customs wasn't going to hassle us about them, so their shrinkwrap is off-- but I promise we didn't play with them! Sorry!
The first prize winner will get first choice (and second prize winner gets second, 3rd gets 3rd, you get the idea) out of the following three prize groups:
| Prizegroup 1: A YaoiSuki t-shirt (or other piece of merch), a Haru wo Daiteita phonestrap (complete with the title's literal translation, "HE HUGGED A HOOKER," on the package-- I'm not kidding), and a Koicha no Osahou card...thing. | |
| Prizegroup 2: A Sex Pistols notepad thing and a small truckload (read: about 13) of gashapon toys. True to traditional gashapon style, we aren't going to tell you exactly what you'll get-- but there are a few Kyou Kara Maou ones in this batch, along with several other popular anime. | |
| Prizegroup 3: A n"In the God's Arms" notepad thing and another small truckload (again, about 8) of gashapon toys. There are FMA toys in this batch, along with a couple more KKM ones-- and one from Black Cat. | |
NEWS! In addition to picking prizesets from above, each winner will get their pick of TWO manga from the following list, courtesy of June Manga/DMP:
Lost Boys (18+ winners ONLY!)
Clan of the Nakagamis
You & Harujion
Same Cell Organism
My Only King
Our Everlasting 1 (18+ winners ONLY!)
La Esperanca 1
So make sure you enter while you still can!
I think we've addressed everything important, but if you have any questions about the contest, send them to
