You may have noticed a few changes around here at YaoiSuki. That's because we've moved to a new host, and in the process upgraded and altered a bunch of our features (most notably: embedded wiki and better forums). Unfortunately, we lost our user database in the move, so those of you who were signed up will unfortunately need to sign up again. It's a pretty painless process though!

Jen and I wandered through Kyoto's Pleasure District trying to spot Maiko. (Maiko are apprentice Geisha. Full Geisha are almost never seen in public.) We had no luck, though we saw neat shops and yet another shrine. Jen suggested that it would be easier if we just hired a Geisha, rather than trying to spot one. I told her I would only want one that was really a boy, and I don't think they have those... Discuss this report here. We also went to Abe no Seimei's shrine to apologize for all the fanfiction about him that we have read. You might recognize the name from various anime. The version of him in the live action movie 'Onmyoji' is most definitely gay for his dear friend Hiromasa. While in Kanazawa we went around its pleasure district. Sensing a theme to our trip yet? We saw a tea house were Geisha used to receive clients. Then, we went off to Hakone for onsens and to try to spy on the all-male part of the baths. The results of that mission will remain secret. Now we are running around Tokyo to find as much BL as possible! Sadly, I can't judge manga by its cover. Alot of what I have bought so far proved to have content that I cannot safely bring back through customs. I wish that I just lived here and didn't have to care. BL really is everywhere in Japan. Any decent sized shop with manga has a good selection. Though, I am saddened that I can't buy any at train stations. I had thought that train station bookshops overflowed with all kinds of porn, but I have yet to see any. I saw a display of Dolfies in a shop and poor Jen had to drag me away. I will resist ... I will resist ... If I don't resist Jen will kill me.
