Little Butterfly is the tale of a young, carefree, perky blonde named Kojima who, as near as I can tell, has no sexual inclinations whatsoever.  There's a boy named Nakahara in his class who has dark hair and a dark mood.  Naturally, Kojima decides to make it his mission to habilitate his classmate and get him some friends.  Awww, how sweet.

Nakahara, of course, turns out to have family problems.  His mom puts too much pressure on him to get into good schools, his dad's absentee most of the time and distant when he is around, etc.  Thus, Nakahara decides to try and run away while away on his school trip.  Kojima, of course, manages to fuck it up for him.  Ah, young love.

The two become friends anyway, and Nakahara falls for Kojima, who is shy and unsure about his feelings for the other boy, etc. etc.

To summarize: it's the same damn plot as a hundred other yaoi titles.  Seriously.



That said-- it's still a decent read.  The art is nice (very effeminate and fluffy, so if that's not to your taste, move along).  Tthe dialogue flows well (except for this awkward pluggage of butterflies, yeesh).  This is a volume 1, so I'm assuming we'll get further adventures of Kojima and Nakahara in college and whatnot.  And hey, maybe there'll be real action in it!

DMP rates this as an 18+/Mature title.  As far as I can tell, the only reason for this is the (relatively minor, as yaoi goes) child abuse, and because Nakahara sticks a hand down Kojima's pants exactly once.  Wait, scrap that-- he doesn't even get it down the pants, he just starts moving down there and Kojima bats him off.  The kiss before that is pretty hot, though.

I guess there's also a vague reference to a hard-on.  But yeah, I would have given this title a 16+ at most.  Silly DMP!
