You may have noticed a few changes around here at YaoiSuki. That's because we've moved to a new host, and in the process upgraded and altered a bunch of our features (most notably: embedded wiki and better forums). Unfortunately, we lost our user database in the move, so those of you who were signed up will unfortunately need to sign up again. It's a pretty painless process though!

CPM vs Libre Update Wednesday, 28 March 2007 So we've been waiting for a call from CPM with an update (though we're not holding our breaths). Meanwhile, MangaNews.net's FloatingSakura had a better idea: hey, why not ask Libre what's going on? That's what she did, and she got a pretty firm answer from them: "The license agreements for translations of the publications between BIBLOS Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “BIBLOS”) and Central Park Media Corporation (hereinafter referred to as “CPM”) became invalid after April, 2006 when BIBLOS filed for bankruptcy protection. Any and all translations of our publications by CPM are based upon the above-mentioned terminated agreements. Moreover, CPM unilaterally continues to publish translations of our publications without performing any obligations of that Agreement, because they insist that they have no obligation due to the fact that BIBLOS is a bankrupt entity." Of course CPM keeps telling everyone that they won't comment publicly on licensing issues, but I gotta tell you, it doesn't sound good for them. CPM, I know you aren't the most 'net-savvy company out there, and I know you don't like talking about this, but the quieter you stay, the worse it sounds... YP Puts a Bounty on Yaoi and More CMP Coverage! Written by Nikki Green    Sunday, 25 March 2007 Yaoipress is offering money for finding undiscovered European yaoi for them! See the details here. A google alert led me to this Kirafics blog entry refering to Yaoi House. A google search led me to this website. Make of it what you will. And, now back to our regularly scheduled CMP coverage! From Mangablog I got this link talking about difficulties in licensing manga. It is written in response to the recent CPM and Libre issues. We have no idea if any of these common issues have anything to do with what is going on. Still, it is a good read. Also, I wrote up a fact sheet of what we actually know about the whole Libre/CPM situation and also what is being assumed about the situation. The title is Voice or Noise by Yamimaru Enjin and it looks to be another Blu offering. JPQueen listing for the title is here. Also, for any of you lucky people who managed to get their hands on Yaoi Cookies, it looks like the Animate shop in Ikebukuro, Tokyo will start selling Yaoi Tea to wash them down with. It looks like they sill start selling the tea in April. I was poking around to see if the books were still listed with other retailers and if BB's shop was still open when I stumbled across a notice about Midaresomenishi - A Legend of Samurai Love: Due to a printing misfortune, the "STOP - This is the last page of the book" notice was printed on the inside front cover instead of the last page of the book.
