Remember when weeks would go by with no news to report? Anyways...

Yaoi Press commented my last news post with some clarifications about the art books and submissions. The news post is here, or look at this forum thread to just see the corrections. Gomen!

Also, The Slash Skinny, a report on the western slash and yaoi markets is going to be a pay service now. Aspiring creators might want to check it out here. Yes, it's a whole 99 cents instead of free, but Dusk Peterson does a really detailed report.

From the How-The-Hell-Did-We-Miss-This file, Juné is having a 'Spring Cleaning' contest. Check the details here.

We got two bits of news from animeOnline.com this morning. The first has lots of pretty images of Yaoi figures from the BL game Lamento. I must make them mine.

The second aO news peice is about Media Blasters. Lots of things are discussed here , but the interesting detail is about Kitty Media. Apparently, Kitty Media turned down the chance to license the Enzai OAV due to not being able to get an uncensored version.

From ComiPress, there is news about Japanese BL novel publisher, Leaf Shuppan, declaring bankruptcy. How sad.

Just FYI, sorry that we have yet to post any of our Indy Month reviews yet (or ANY reviews for that matter O_O WTF?). April and Sakura Con crept up on us remarkably fast, along with a few other personal matters, but I promise we'll have a review up mid-day tomorrow. Thanks for bearing with, guys! ;)

Image I have a few bits of news from Sakuracon. We went by the Media Blaster tables to ask them about the Thunderbolt Boys Excite misprint. This missing pages from volume 1 are printed in the back of volume two. The reps pointed out that the pages can be taken out of volume 2 and slipped into the appropriate places in volume 1. They said they will email us about the pages being available on their website. So, that seems to be all the action they are taking at this time.

We also went to the Broccoli Panel. They talked a little about Boysenberry, but mostly up front after the main panel. They said that the titles they have licensed are all light in terms of mature content; naughty bits are hidden. I asked them about making or importing yaoi merchandise. They don't have any plans to right now, but seem open to the idea. They had said earlier in the panel that they do sometimes import merchandise that people had requested of them via email.

Yaoi Press had a panel where they announced three artbooks. They will have artbooks coming out by Studio Kosen and Laura Carboni. Laura Carboni's book will be called Senso Vietato.

They had a few other announcements. Saihoshi will be coming out in a single volume that collects the whole story. Yaoi Press will be bringing Italian creators Dany&Dany to Yaoi-Con. Interestingly, they mentioned that Studio Kosen will be doing work with with a yaoi publisher that previously only put out works licensed from Japan. They could not say more then that, though. Yaoi Press is again looking for submissions to fill specific needs that they have. Details are after the jump.

BB Has New Releases In Stock PDF Print E-mail

First, some non-CPM news. The Icarus Publishing Blog has news that there is now one less printer for hardcore yaoi publishers. Brenner Publishing will stop accepting at least some adult materials. This is an issue as few printers will print yaoi, which is a factor in the cost of the manga.

I am sure I am far from the only one who checked to see if Be Beautiful listed their two releases slated for today as 'in-stock'. Embracing Love volume 5 and Finder volume 3 are both listed as in stock in their store. Just to be (overly) clear, us announcing this does not mean we think people should buy, or not buy, their books. We are merely passing on information.

The CPM/Libre dispute has been mentioned in what appears to be mainstream press over at Star Bulletin.

Journalista isolated an interesting bit of commentary on David Welsh's Blog about this dispute.

Oh, yeah, and while we are on the topic, we aren't actually publishing a book of slash fanfic about the dispute between Libre and Central Park Media. Yes, this was an April Fools joke.

ICv2's article about Aurora Publishing has mentioned two other acquisitions for their upcoming yaoi line Deux Press: Spring Fever, by Yamada Yugi, and the manga of I Shall Never Return (Boku Wa Konomama Kaeranai).
