You may have noticed a few changes around here at YaoiSuki. That's because we've moved to a new host, and in the process upgraded and altered a bunch of our features (most notably: embedded wiki and better forums). Unfortunately, we lost our user database in the move, so those of you who were signed up will unfortunately need to sign up again. It's a pretty painless process though!

Central Park Media Gets New Distributor |

Central Park Media, which publishes manga under the Be Beautiful imprint, among others, has joined with Consortium Book Sales & Distribution. CPM stopped using the famously bad Diamond Distribution about a year ago and had been handling their own sales in the meantime.

...unless there was a STORM of voting after I prepared this post last night, the winner of our t-shirt contest is NAZUKI with the "Get Ready Say Yaoi! design"!
Thanks SO much to everyone who entered-- you guys seriously rocked our socks off. And to those of you who had concerns about how the contest worked: don't worry, we heard your concerns and will definitely keep them in mind for whenever we do our next contest (it'll probably be coming up in July, so keep an eye out).
Expect to see our CafePress store with Nazuki's designs (and possibly a couple of our own) sometime after we get back from Japan, in mid-June.
ALSO! Later today (around noon) we'll be posting our VEGAS POST. Yeah, even on vacation we couldn't help spying out whatever homoeroticism we could-- so check back later today! :)

Japan Considers New Child Porn Law |

According to Kashinosei of Yaoi_Daily_Cafe and Minatosabe of Doki-Doki, Japan is considering a new law that will make depictions of sexual expression of under 18 characters illegal-- specifically in anime, manga, and games.
At first glance that might not sound like a bad thing (child porn is evil!). But look at all the titles even here on YaoiSuki that would become illegal with the new law: Enzai, The Art of Loving, But I'm Your Teacher, and Lies and Kisses-- to name a few!
Keep in mind that this law is still being discussed.

DMP Announces Non-Yaoi Titles |

DMP has announced that it "does more than just yaoi!" It has announced two new titles, Princess Princess and Enchanter. Kawachi Izumi, the creator of Enchantor, will also be a guest with DMP at Anime Expo.
So! This seems to imply that Princess Princess is NOT yaoi/shounen-ai, although it is clearly intended to appeal to that crowd of fans. I guess that's settled, then.

For the record-- is this yaoi-related enough for me to have bothered posting? I figured because I know some of us discussed Princess Princess on the forums and because DMP is still one of the main yaoi publishers in North America (probably the biggest, imho), even if the titles aren't yaoi.

Never let it be said that we don't do our best to keep you on top of yaoi news-- even when it means linking to the "competition" ;)
That said, ActiveAnime apparently got their hands on an early copy of Time Lag, the new manga by Gotoh Shinobu (the writer for Passion) and Odagiri Hotaru (artist of Only the Ring Finger Knows), and have reviewed it.
So, you can read their review here, and you can bet we'll have one ASAP too. ;)
