DramaQueen has issued a press release a couple of days ago to pimp a batch of manga, including yaoi/shounen-ai titles Worthless Love, Challengers v.2, Lovely Sick v.1, and The Judged. They also included a few "girls comics" titles (by which I assume they mean shoujo manga that is not BL). Additionally they reiterated a few licenses they announced in May (Duo Brand's White Guardian and Crimson Wind, plus the Tyrant Falls in Love).

Here's a bit of news from while we've been in Japan. Mostly news on a couple of titles and on a contest (not ours!).

Well, we're getting all packed up and ready to head off to the airport to fly home. Part of me is like, "already?" and part of me is like "finally!" (Keep in mind that this trip has been very expensive and that I have a brand-spankin'-new apartment waiting for me back home.)
Anyway, I just wanted to give you guys a heads-up...within a few days of returning home we'll be back to regular reviews every 3-4 days, plus updating yaoi news as it comes. We will also be introducing a new contest-- a much more accessible one (to those less artistically inclined, anyway), so we hope it'll work out well. I'm not at liberty to say much, but I WILL say that most of the prizes for this contest were purchased in Japan. XD
Also coming up-- we're on DMP's advance review copy list now, so hopefully we'll be getting sneak peeks of stuff XD AND our store will be up within a week of our return too (probably-- we ordered shirts before we left and now we have to see how they come out).
Seeya'll soon!

Jen and I wandered through Kyoto's Pleasure District trying to spot Maiko. (Maiko are apprentice Geisha. Full Geisha are almost never seen in public.) We had no luck, though we saw neat shops and yet another shrine. Jen suggested that it would be easier if we just hired a Geisha, rather than trying to spot one. I told her I would only want one that was really a boy, and I don't think they have those...

While we're in Japan, mull over this new poll.
Some brief explanations:
Shoutbox for non-topic-specific shout-outs and the like (just a box on the side somewhere). Fanart Gallery and Fanfic Hosting should be pretty self-explanatory. Forum Events...we like the idea of doing things on the forums, but we're not quite sure what they would be. Maybe you have ideas? Tell us! I'm not 100% sure I could do @yaoisuki.net e-mail addies, but if you guys'd like them, I can look into it. I was thinking a newsletter might be good for those of you who don't check the site daily or keep up on the RSS feed/lj community...it would be probably every other week and contain a clump of links to the news and reviews we've done most recently. More images and more contests should also be self-explanatory (though the images would pop up more in news...we can't really get away with doing more scans/screencaps in our reviews; we already may be pushing the limit there, actually).
