You may have noticed a few changes around here at YaoiSuki. That's because we've moved to a new host, and in the process upgraded and altered a bunch of our features (most notably: embedded wiki and better forums). Unfortunately, we lost our user database in the move, so those of you who were signed up will unfortunately need to sign up again. It's a pretty painless process though!

Buying BL on Amazon.co.jp |

What, you actually have money to spend?
Amazon.co.jp, Amazon's Japanese branch and one of the few countries from which you cannot buy things with a regular Amazon.com account, just opened up an Otaku Store.
You may already know that once you are looking at an item, you can choose to see an English version of the site for checking out and ordering the item...but that doesn't help you FIND the stuff!
Below the jump I've translated the categories on the main page and then one level of subcategories. There are BL categories under "Books (Anime, Comic, BL)" and under Adult Games, so check it out! ;)

As we hinted about earlier, Yaoi Press is going to start a line of artbooks! The first one is the one we linked to, Yaoi Gothic: An Explicit Sketchbook, which will include art by Laura "Zel" Carboni (who draws "Roulette" in Rush), Le Peruggine (who will draw volume 2 of YP's "Winter Demon"), and other global BL artists.
This has now been officially confirmed in this week's issue of PWCW (see here-- thanks MangaCast for the heads-up!).
In other news, in the same issue of PWCW Honma Akira's "The Judged" was listed as one of the top 10 manga for the year. Congratulations, Honma-sensei and publisher Drama Queen!

I know I've mentioned this a few places, but just in case you didn't believe me, Rei just posted this on Juné's blog:
"Sadly, it looks like J-Boy by Biblos is only going to be one volume. You see, J-Boy by Biblos is based off this anthology called Junk Boy! that was originally published by Biblos in Japan. Well, as everyone knows and has heard a zillion times, Biblos went bankrupt earlier this year. As a result, Junk Boy doesn't really exist anymore..."
So the likelihood of more J-Boy is pretty small, though there's always the possibility of working something out with Libre.
Don't fret too much though: all the stories in J-Boy were one-shots, so you're not missing any "next chapters" or anything :)
I, for one, would love for Juné to work out some new anthology. Actually, in my dream world, they'd just pick and choose shorts that they liked and compile their own anthologies! XD But alas, dealing with publishers and creators just isn't that simple.

Okay, this is NOT directly BL-related. Not even a tiny bit! But I thought it was very interesting: it's about why a particular Broccoli manga is getting delayed. (Thank MangaBlog for the link!)
When yaoi volumes get delayed, I often see fans gripe a lot. Heck, I gripe a bit myself. But occasionally I'll see a complaint where it seems like some fans think the companies are just being flaky or lazy.
If you occasionally feel that way, read this. This particular volume of Broccoli's is getting delayed due to a printing issue that becomes a sales/marketing issue that ALSO becomes a quality issue.
No laziness or flakiness, just an honest desire to produce something that people will be able to see at the bookstore and that is also high-quality printing.
...Just a bit of food for thought. :)

Also, a review of Saihoshi 2 will be up later today. Sorry for the delay, you know how the damn holidays are. (Why do we like these times again? Oh yeah, presents!) |
