All requests for features should go here. I will also update this thread whenever I add new features (even just the little tiny ones that don't merit a front-page post).

This is also where you can request additional entries to the kinks lists on My TMI, or any other profile features.

Currently on the list of requested features:

  • Forum subscription thread links in profile (Status: Complete!)
  • Adjust session time for log-ins (Status: Tentatively complete; anyone still having trouble?)
  • "My Books" list in profile (Status: Researching)
  • Redesign "Kinks List" profile display
  • "My Page" HTML-capable tab in profile (Status: Complete!)
  • Profile Guestbooks (Status: Complete!)

So, I've added more connection options. We now have "Seme and Uke," "Writer and Beta," "Roleplay Buddies," and "Artistic Cohorts."

I have also added a tab called "My TMI" which features the following options:

"I identify as..." (gender)
"I am a..." (seme/uke/switch/neither)
"I am attracted to..." (boys/girls/both/neither)
"I am currently..." (single/dating but poly/100% taken/asexual)

There are also checkbox lists for both kinks that you like to see in BL and/or fiction, and for your real-life kinks. Neither list is exhaustive so feel free to suggest more.

Also, would anyone out there particularly prefer to be able to do an HTML bio? There *is* an option to have an "editor text area" box, which would make use of the WYSIWYG/no WYSIWYG option and which would allow people to use HTML, at least to some extent.

Or I could keep the text-only bio for the "My Bio" page, but create a new tab called "My Page" that consists of only the editor box, so there'd be a sort of free-for-all page on the bio.

Or we could just leave things as-is. Any thoughts?

Hmm, I just noticed that there's a plugin available that creates a guestbook on each member's profile. Anyone interested?

One thing that really annoys me is this time limit thing that's been put in. Angry
It keeps logging me out before I've finished writing my posts, and then when I log in again the thing I've been writing has disappeared. Cry
- Can you put a "settings" feature in the profile, where the time limit is an option?
Another option in “settings” could be; what font, colour, etc. you’d want as a standard for your texts.

I liked the TMI design in the "Edit", but it wasn’t as fun in reality. Undecided
Right now they're all lined up on a row "My BL Kinks: BDSM; Doctors; Oral; Incest", it would maybe be more to read if they're in a list or something. Can we have another design on the kinks?

How about a "My library” in the profile? It would be interesting to se what people read and it's also helpful if someone want to ask about a book. Grin

Answers to your questions:
A “My page” where you can use HTML would be perfect, and a guestbook could be fun. Wink

Trasirshall: Actually, login times is something that I don't think I have the ability to make set-able for all users. I've been having problems staying logged in too, and I'm working on finding a way to make it keep people logged in longer.

I'll see what I can do about the kinks list, though again, I don't know how much I can customize that in the backend. The plugin that I'm using offers a way to lay it out in the edit version, but I don't think there's much I can do with the display version without digging my hands into the code. I'll play with it on the test copy of the site and see what I can do.

As for book lists, though, I'm pretty sure I saw a couple of plugins that I could make work for that; I'll add it to my to-do list along with the "My Page" and (maybe) guestbook Smiley

I've increased the session length and lowered the session authentication method a bit, which may or may not be all that was needed to make the staying logged-in bit a bit less glitchy.

If anyone keeps having problems, let me know.

Guest Book and My Page have both been implemented.

Note that if you want to use change whether you use a WYSIWYG editor or not, the option is under the "Contact Info" tab. The options are "No WYSIWYG Editor" (i.e. doing all the HTML yourself), or "TinyMCE WYSIWYG Editor," which is a pretty full-featured editor for those of you who don't want to hand-code.

I have TinyMCE listed as the default, but I did notice my test account was set to none, so be aware that you may have to switch to whichever option you want to use for "My Page."

Also note that when you update your profile there ARE a few options for the guest book, like notification.

Phew, the "TinyMCE WYSIWYG Editor" was not easy to use. Sad

It's especially hard to design the "My page" when it doesn't keep the same format in the editor as in reality.

I think I have to dust of my old HTML instructions, 'cause strangely enough those are much easier than the editor. Tongue

P.S. I must sound really whiny by now. Sorry about that. I really appreciate what you're doing Jen.

Haha, no worries-- you're spurring me on to more fun stuff Wink

Can you tell me more about the problems you had with TinyMCE? What kinds of things were different in the editor version versus the version it actually displayed on the profile?

I can look at other WYSIWYG editors, but of course that'll only help if it turns out the problem is something with the editor, as opposed to something odd with our site's code.

The editor is narrower than the "My Page".
If you look at my "My page"; I have two pictures next to each other, but in the editor they are displayed on top of each other – like they’re too wide for the editor.
It makes it very difficult to get an overview of what the page will look like when it’s finished.

Also, there's something wrong with the S&M option in "kinks", it never shows up in the profile.

More choices in kinks would be nice. (ex. I like it when everyday- office boy, student etc- charecters get tied up, but I don't think that is the same as BSDM.)
Others- Sex out of the bedroom, period/historical,and I can't think of more.  Embarrassed
Hopefully more people will start suggesting.

2 suggestions I have off the profile are,

1. Start to include slashable anime/manga in your reviews. Works that have hints of BL but don't aren't officially yaoi, like prince of tennis or Fruba. (I know you hardly have time for your reviews now, but if you happen to finish something you really enjoy/ hate, we would love to hear it.)

2. Outside of your reviews, have a page where site users can list yaoi and slashable titles and can submit information about them. Not reviews so much , but comments, where to get it, is it liscensed, etc.

Let's see...

1. We have done some here and there-- for example, Cantarella, Loveless (anime), Sukisho (anime), and I think we might even have a random mini-review of the Princess Princess live-action drama O.o; But frankly, there's so much actual BL manga coming out in the US now that there's almost never time for slashable series. And besides which, what series ISN'T slashable these days? Wink

2. Hmm...a user-editable database of yaoi manga...hey, that sounds kind of like a WIKI! Cheesy Trust me, we'd love for you guys to be helping us out in editing that sucker, especially since we lost a fair bit of our data in the move @_@
